I use an algorithm similar to Microsoft’s TrueSkill, as this is generally agreed to be better than ELO for team games. Your MMR rating shows your skill level compared to other players. As this reflects skill, playing more games will not raise your MMR by itself. If you want to raise your MMR, you’ll need to get better: After each game, your MMR is updated based on the result of the game, as well as the current average MMR of each team.
If you were matched against a team with MMR higher than your team, and you win, your MMR will be raised more than normal. Similarly, if you are matched against a team of lesser skill, and lose to them, your MMR will drop more than normal. In general, the more games you play, the more information we have about you, and the more confident we are about this estimation.
The lower the uncertainty, the higher the confidence. What is the link between skill and MMR? In the past, we incorporated a progression system that would take your engagement into account when determining your rank. In other words, you needed to lower your uncertainty to achieve higher ranks.

Originally announced at The International back in August, The Dueling Fates update brings with it a massive number of new features and changes, including the two new heroes Pangolier and Dark Willow. Pangolier is a melee hero with powerful defenses, and the ability to negate enemy armor.

Not really sure why I did it but it was an interesting experiment nonetheless. Got the last one yesterday afternoon so went on an opening spree last night. Ended up getting 5 legendary skins and a legendary pile of gold. A couple of emotes and a highlight intro. Mostly voice lines and sprays though which I was fully expecting. I am a little surprised that I got so many legendary skins considering that previously it was at least 25 boxes between legendary skins for me.
It was a shame they weren’t really ones that I was after but I’ll certainly take them. The absolutely disgusting part though is how many duplicates I was getting already, and I’ve barely scratched the surface on what is available to unlock. One particular box contained all duplicates with many others containing two or three duplicates each.
